'Ad (people) belied the Messengers. 123 When their fellowman Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?” 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 You construct monuments on every hill in vain, 128 "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)? 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 So be fearful of God and follow me. 131 Keep your duty toward Him Who hath aided you with (the good things) that ye know, 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 gardens, and springs. 134 Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day 135 They said: it is equal unto us whether thou admonishest or art not of the admonishers. 136 "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients, 137 “And we will not be punished.” 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and merciful. 140
