Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Let them produce a discourse like it if they are true in their claim. 34 Have they not been created by aught, or are they the creators? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority? 37 Or have they a ladder by which they could [ascend to ultimate truths and] listen [to what is beyond the reach of human perception]? Let, then, any of them who have listened [to it] produce a manifest proof [of his knowledge]! 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? 41 Do they want to hatch some plot? Those who deny the truth will be the victims of the plot. 42 Or have they a god, other than God? Glory be to God, above that which they associate! 43 (So obstinate are they that) even if they were to see some fragments of the sky falling down they would still say: “It is only a mass of cloud.” 44 Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. 45 A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this, but most of them know not. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 36]. 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 and extol His glory at night, and at the time when the stars retreat. 49
