۞ God says: 'Take not to you two gods. He is only One God; so have awe of Me.' 51 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. God's retribution is severe. Should you then have fear of anyone other than God? 52 And whatever of comfort ye enjoy, it is from Allah. Then, when misfortune reacheth you, unto Him ye cry for help. 53 Then when He removes the adversity from you, at once a party of you associates others with their Lord 54 [as if] to prove their ingratitude for all that We have granted them! Enjoy, then, your [brief] life: but in time you will come to know [the truth]! 55 And they assign a portion of that which We have given them unto what they know not. By Allah! but ye will indeed be asked concerning (all) that ye used to invent. 56 They assign daughters to Allah - glory be to Him - whereas they assign to themselves what they truly desire! 57 When good news of the birth of a female is given to any of them, his face grows dark and inwardly he chokes. 58 Because of the evil of the good news he hides himself from people, (pondering) whether he will keep her and be humiliated, or trample her into the dust. Evil is their judgement! 59 Those who do not believe in the Hereafter, for them only is the evil state; and the Majesty of Allah is Supreme; and He only is the Most Honourable, the Wise. 60
