Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They slept very little during the night 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
