The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
