Nay, by the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 As a warning unto men, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
