Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
