We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
