Messengers! Partake of the things that are clean, and act righteously. I know well all that you do. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children 55 Is [because] We hasten for them good things? Rather, they do not perceive. 56 Verily, [only] they who stand in reverent awe of their Sustainer, 57 Who believe in their Lord's revelations, 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return, 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 (We shall say): 'Do not groan today, surely you shall receive no help from Us' 65 For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Have they not pondered over the word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or is it that they were unaware of their Messenger and were therefore repelled by him for he was a stranger to them? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 If truth had followed their whims and desires, heavens and earth and all that lives in them would have been brought to ruin. Rather We have brought them their Reminder. Yet they keep avoiding their Reminder. 71 Or do you ask of them any tribute? In that case the tribute of your Lord is better, for He is the best of providers. 72 And most surely you invite them to a right way. 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ And though We have mercy on them We may remove whatsoever of hurt is with them, surely they would persist in their exorbitance, wandering perplexed. 75 And indeed We grasped them with punishment, so neither did they submit themselves to their Lord, nor do they cry humbly. 76 until We opened the gate of greater torment (death) and they suddenly found themselves in despair. 77
