The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 Who guard their sex 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
