The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
