Did not the disbelievers observe that the heavens and the earth were together, so We parted them, and we made every living thing from water? So will they not accept faith? 30 And We have placed in the earth firm hills lest it quake with them, and We have placed therein ravines as roads that haply they may find their way. 31 And We have made the sky a roof, protected; and they turn away from its signs. 32 and [fail to see that] it is He who has created the night and the day and the sun and the moon - all of them floating through space! 33 We appointed immortality for no mortal before thee. What! if thou diest, can they be immortal! 34 Every soul has to experience the taste of death. We test you with both hardships and blessings. In the end you will all return to Us. 35 When those who deny the truth see you, they laugh at you, saying, "Is this the one who talks of your deities?" Yet it is they who deny all mention of the Gracious One. 36 Man is created of haste; now will I show to you My signs, therefore do not ask Me to hasten (them) on. 37 They say: 'If you are truthful, when will this promise come' 38 If only the disbelievers realised the time when they will not be able to stop the fire from their faces and from their backs – and nor are they to be helped. 39 Aye! it would come upon them on a sudden and shall dumbfound them; they shall not be able to avert it, nor shall they be respited. 40 Mocked were (many) messenger before thee; But their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked. 41
