VERILY, Abraham was a man who combined within himself all virtues, devoutly obeying God's will, turning away from all that is false, and not being of those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 120 [for he was always] grateful for the blessings granted by Him who had elected him and guided him onto a straight way. 121 We gave him blessings in this world, and in the Hereafter he shall be among the righteous. 122 So We commanded you to follow the way of Abraham the upright who was not of idolaters. 123 The Sabbath was only made (strict) for those who disagreed (as to its observance); But Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment, as to their differences. 124 Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and fair exhortation and reason with them in a way that is best. Your Lord knows best those who have strayed away from His path, and He knows best those who are rightly guided. 125 If you want retaliation, let it be equal to that which you faced. But if you exercise patience it will be better for you. 126 And bear with patience, (O Muhammad) - and your patience is only because of the help of Allah - and do not grieve over them, nor feel distressed by their evil plans. 127 Truly, Allah is with those who fear Him (keep their duty unto Him), and those who are Muhsinun (good-doers, - see the footnote of V. 9:120). 128
