Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The craving for excess wealth kept you people neglectful. 1 Until ye visit the graves. 2 Nay, in time you will come to understand! 3 Again, no indeed; but soon you shall know. 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 you would indeed, most surely, behold the blazing fire [of hell]! 6 again, you shall most certainly end up seeing it with absolute certainty. 7 then you shall be questioned that day concerning true bliss. 8
