The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Star when it goes down,- 1 Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled. 2 He does not speak out of his own desires. 3 It is but a divine revelation, which is revealed to him. 4 and taught to him 5 and endowed with wisdom; who in time manifested himself; 6 while he was in the highest horizon; 7 Then he approached and came closer, 8 And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer. 9 And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. 10 The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. 11 Will you dispute with him what he saw? 12 Indeed he saw him a second time, 13 By the Lote-tree beyond which none can pass, 14 nigh which is the Garden of the Refuge, 15 When there comes to the Lote Tree, that which comes 16 His sight did not waver nor was it unduly bold. 17 Indeed he saw some of the greatest signs of His Lord. 18 Have you then considered Al-Lat, and Al-'Uzza (two idols of the pagan Arabs). 19 and, another, the third manat? 20 Is the male for you and for Him the female? 21 This is an unfair distinction! 22 They are nothing but some names that you have coined, you and your forefathers – Allah has not sent any proof for them; they follow only guesses and their own desires; whereas the guidance from their Lord has come to them. 23 Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after? 24 All that is in the life to come and all that is in this life belongs only to God. 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
