The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. 1 Verily We created man out of a drop of intermingled sperm so that We might try him, and We therefore endowed him with hearing and sight. 2 Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful. 3 For the Rejecters we have prepared chains, yokes, and a blazing Fire. 4 As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- 5 A fountain from which the servants of Allah shall drink; they make it to flow a (goodly) flowing forth. 6 Those who fulfil their vows and fear the Day whose evil shall be diffused far and wide, 7 And they feed with food, for love of Him, the needy, and the orphan and the captive. 8 (Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; 9 Truly, we fear from our Lord a woefully grim Day." 10 So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness 11 And gave them Paradise and silk clothes, as a reward for their patience. 12 In that [garden] they will on couches recline, and will know therein neither [burning] sun nor cold severe, 13 And close upon them will be the shades thereof, and low will hang the clusters thereof greatly. 14 and passed around them shall be silver vessels, and crystal goblets, 15 And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. 16 And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger 17 from a flowing spring called Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, 19 when thou seest them then thou seest bliss and a great kingdom. 20 Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. 21 Surely this is a reward for you, and your striving shall be recompensed. 22
