Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. 3 The dimwit one (the devil) among us has been telling confused lies about God. 4 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. 5 And indeed (O Muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against Allah); 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 But those who are iniquitous will be fuel for Hell. 15 (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. 16 so that We might try them through this bounty. Whoso turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to suffer a grievous chastisement; 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 Yet [thus it is] that whenever a servant of God stands up in prayer to Him, they [who are bent on denying the truth] would gladly overwhelm him with their crowds. 19
