The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Created man, 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
