The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
