Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 "That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me: 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said: “My Lord, I called my people by night and by day, 5 But my call has only made them flee the more: 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 "And behold I called unto them openly; 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 He will shower upon you torrents from heaven, 11 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 seeing He created you by stages? 14 Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth; 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, 19 that thereof you may thread ways, ravines." 20
