Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 What, would they then say: 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
