Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
