The Embryo (Al-Alaq)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
