▼ 52 The Mountain

Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Does their reason tell them to say this or is it because they are a rebellious people? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord? Have they any authority over God? 37 Or do they have any stairs, climbing upon which they eavesdrop? So their eavesdropper should bring some clear proof! 38 Or does Allah have daughters whereas you have sons? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 (So obstinate are they that) even if they were to see some fragments of the sky falling down they would still say: “It is only a mass of cloud.” 44 So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. 49
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
