The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 on lavish couches 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 And spreading shade, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
