By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
