The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
