The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ (Muhammad), glorify the Name of your lord, the Most High, 1 Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion; 2 who determined and guided, 3 And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture, 4 then made it dry dark, flaky stubble, 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 save what God may will [thee to forget] - for, verily, He [alone] knows all that is open to [man's] perception as well as all that is hidden [from it] 7 We shall ease you to the easy. 8 Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. 9 Admonished is he indeed who feareth, 10 but the wretched will turn away from it. 11 and suffer the heat of the great fire 12 wherein they will neither live nor die. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 and remembers his Sustainer's name, and prays [unto Him]. 15 But you prefer the life of this world, 16 but the Everlasting Life is better, and more enduring. 17 Surely this is in the ancient scrolls, 18 The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
