The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
