The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
