Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 we are the rangers, 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
