NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens they will question 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
