Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 Ain. Sin. Qaf. 2 As such Allah, the Almighty, the Wise reveals to you (Prophet Muhammad) and to those before you. 3 To Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth; and He is the All-high, the All-glorious. 4 The skies are near to bursting asunder above them (for awe of Him), and the angels sing the praises of their Lord, imploring forgiveness for the dwellers of the earth. Is it not that God is forgiving and merciful? 5 And as for those who take as Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) others besides Him [i.e. they take false deities other than Allah (as) protectors, and they worship them] Allah is Hafiz (Protector) over them (i.e. takes care of their deeds and will recompense them), and you (O Muhammad SAW) are not a Wakil (guardian or a disposer of their affairs) over them (to protect their deeds, etc.). 6 Thus We revealed to you, this Arabic Quran so that you may warn the mother of cities [Makkah] and those around it, and warn them of the Day of Gathering which is sure to come: when some group will be in the Garden, and some will be in the Fire. 7 Had God wanted, He could have made them all one single nation, but He grants mercy to whomever He wills. The unjust will have no guardian or helper. 8 Or have they taken to themselves guardians other than Him? But Allah, He is the Guardian. He revives the dead and has power over all things. 9
