Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 the people of Pharaoh: do they have no fear?" 11 He answered: "O my Sustainer! Behold, I fear that they will give me the lie, 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 "So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds; 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. But [since] then my Sustainer has endowed me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and has made me one of [His] message-bearers. 21 That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.' 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty." 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 [And Moses] continued: "[He is] your Sustainer, [too,] as well as the Sustainer of your forefathers of old!" 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the East and the Lord of the West and all that lies between them, if you have sense." 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 Moses asked, "What if I were to bring you clear proof (of the existence of God)?" 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 So (Moses) cast his staff, and lo, it turned into a living serpent. 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
