The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the mount 1 And the Book written 2 In parchment spread open 3 by the much-visited House, 4 and the uplifted roof 5 By the sea overflowing. 6 surely, the punishment of your Lord is about to come, 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 and the mountains quickly move. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 "This is the fire which you were wont to call a lie! 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. 16 [But,] verily, the God-conscious will find themselves [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 rejoicing in all their Lord has given them, and their Lord will guard them against the punishment of Hell. 18 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did, 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 And those who believed, and their seed followed them in belief, We shall join their seed with them, and We shall not defraud them of aught of their work; every man shall be pledged for what he earned. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will ask each other questions, 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
