Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed time? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
