The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 By no means! They will be thrown into hutamah. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 in columns outstretched. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
