Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail – peace be upon them – is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
