The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 and the scarers scaring 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 surely your God is One, 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts. 5 Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 they cannot overhear the Higher Assembly for they are pelted from every side, 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 Except one who sometimes steals a part, so a blazing flame goes after him. 10 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 And seek to scoff when they behold a portent. 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 Why - after we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 This is the Day of Judgment which ye were wont to belie. 21
