In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not Sent down on thee the Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed. 2 but only as a reminder to him who tears, 3 A down-sent from Him who Created the earth and the heavens high. 4 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. 5 all that is in the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and all that is underneath the soil. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 "Verily! I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. 12 And I have chosen thee, so hearken unto that which is inspired. 13 Lo! I, even I, am Allah, There is no Allah save Me. So serve Me and establish worship for My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming; I would conceal it that every soul may be recompensed for its labours. 15 "Therefore let not such as believe not therein but follow their own lusts, divert thee therefrom, lest thou perish!".. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Musa! 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, bring down leaves for my sheep with it and I need it for other reasons. 18 He said: 'Moses, cast it down' 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24
