A numerous company from among the first, 39 and a good many of later times. 40 But those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) those of the left hand -- 41 They will be in the midst of scorching wind and boiling water, 42 scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, 43 [shadows] neither cooling nor soothing. 44 They were endowed with good things 45 and would persist in heinous sinning, 46 and constantly said: 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we then be restored to life? 47 (We) and our fore-fathers of yore?” 48 Tell them, (O Prophet): “The earlier ones and the later ones 49 “They will all be gathered together on the appointed time of the known day.” 50 Then you erring ones, you that cried lies, 51 Ye verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqum 52 Fill your bellies with it, 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 Drinking even as the camel drinketh. 55 This is their reception on the Day of Justice. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Did you ever consider the sperm that you emit? 58 Create him ye, or are We the Creator? 59 We have [indeed] decreed that death shall be [ever-present] among you: but there is nothing to prevent Us 60 In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know. 61 And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises? 62 Just ponder over what you sow: 63 Is it you who cause them to grow or do We? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). 65 “We have been penalised; 66 Indeed, we have been deprived of the fruits of our labour." 67 Tell Me! The water that you drink. 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? 69 If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks? 70 So what is your opinion regarding the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you that produce the trees for it, or are We the producers? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
