The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
