The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and spreading shade 30 And water everflowing. 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And raised couches. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
