Al-Shams
The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
And by the sun and its brightness; 1 And the moon when she followeth him, 2 And by the day as it shows up (the sun's) brightness; 3 and by the night when it enshrouds him! 4 And the heaven and Him Who built it, 5 And by the earth and Him Who spread it, 6 The soul and how it was integrated 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 He has succeeded who purifies it, 9 And he will indeed fail who corrupts it. 10 Thamud belied in their exorbitance. 11 when the most wicked man among them rose up. 12 the Messenger of Allah said to them: '(This is) the shecamel of Allah, let her drink' 13 But they rejected his statement as a lie and hamstrung the she-camel. For that crime their Lord rumbled down upon them, utterly razing them to the ground. 14 And He (Allah) feared not the consequences thereof. 15
True are the words of God the Almighty.
