Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
