The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
