The notables among his people who had refused to believe and who denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and those whom We had endowed with ease and comfort in this life, cried out: "This is no other than a mortal like yourselves who eats what you eat and drinks what you drink. 33 So if you follow a man like yourself you will certainly be doomed. 34 Does he give you a promise that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be raised to life again? 35 ۞ Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be resurrected. 37 He is only a man who invents lies against God, so have no faith in him". 38 He said: my Lord! vindicate for they belie me. 39 (Allah) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!" 40 And the Cry seized them justly, and We made them as scum; so away with the people of the evildoers! 41 After them We produced other generations 42 No nation can go before its term ends nor stay back. 43 Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a manifest authority 45 To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people. 46 'What' they said, 'are we to believe in two mortals like us, whose nation are our worshipers' 47 So they rejected them both, and became those who were destroyed. 48 for, indeed, We had vouchsafed revelation unto Moses in order that they might find the right way. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother as a sign, And We gave them refuge on high ground, a place of rest, security and flowing streams. 50
