He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 to him thou attendest 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And he fears, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 And cause the grain to grow therein 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 olives, dates, 29 and dense orchards, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
