The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
