1/2 Hizb 35
< random >
[Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing. 51 This community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so hold Me alone in fear. 52 Yet they have split their affairs between themselves into sects, each rejoicing in what it has. 53 So leave thou them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 Who do not associate any one with their Lord, 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salat (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. 61 And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 “Do not implore this day; you will not be helped by Us.” 65 My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels 66 [and,] impelled by your arrogance, you would talk senselessly far into the night." 67 Have they not pondered over the Word (of Allah, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet SAW), or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 but those who disbelieve the life hereafter deviate from the right path. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 And indeed, We tested them through suffering, but they did not abase themselves before their Sustainer; and they will never humble themselves 76 until We open before them a gate of harsh punishment and then they will be dumbfounded. 77
